Analyze this!

Well, you told me to, so I will analyze this!

This is a close-up of a backpack stuffed to overflowing with books for school. The photo was shot using a low angle with the flash on (I could go and rant about how I strongly dislike flash when taking photos, but that's irrelevant). The use of flash creates a strong light/dark contrast between the subject (backpack) and the background. The low angle makes the backpack large and imposing, almost scary. The backpack looks almost like a mouth that is poised to eat everything in it and around it. It seems to suggest that school is overwhelming and is consuming the owner's life.

The camera angle on this portrait of an overstuffed backpack is slightly low. We are unable to see the surrounding, making this a close-up shot. The backpack is heavily lit in comparison to its surroundings. The low camera angle exaggerates the presence of the intimidatingly full bag. As it takes up the vast majority of the frame, the backpack at a close distance becomes threatening. A strong signal is sent to the reader about the high importance or threat of this backpack by the heavy lighting it receives. The photographer is telling us that this backpack, which most likely symbolizes school, is intimidating and unavoidable.

Chris took a medium shot of a backpack from less than a foot away. It is shot from a low angle. Everything in the backpack is well-lit, while the background is dark. The medium shot of the backpack allows the viewer to see everything in the backpack and the calculator and folders next to it. The backpack looms over everything because of the low angle. It looks kind of scary. The shadowing makes the background of the picture totally irrelevant. The picture suggests that Chris was looking at his backpack, unable to even figure out where to begin his homework, it's such a large task.

This close-up photograph shows a backpack full of an array of school supplies. There is even an agenda spilling out. This adds up to convey a meesage of what school and most importantly, homework, can do to your life, and how it takes hold and doesn't let go. The books also seem to loom over the subject giving the lower angle of the shot.
